ഒരു ചിലമ്പ് ഉടഞ്ഞു… ഒരു നഗരം കത്തി… ആ ദേവി ഒടുവിൽ എത്തിയത് നമ്മുടെ ആറ്റുകാലിൽ! 🙏

മധുരയിൽ, ചെയ്യാത്ത കുറ്റത്തിന് ഭർത്താവ് കോവലനെ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട കണ്ണകി. രാജ്ഞിയുടെ ചിലമ്പിൽ മുത്ത്, കണ്ണകിയുടേതിൽ മാണിക്യം — ഉടഞ്ഞ ചിലമ്പ് സത്യം പറഞ്ഞു. പിന്നെ മലകൾ കടന്ന് കേരളത്തിലേക്ക്… കിള്ളിയാറ്റിൻ കരയിലെ കൊച്ചു പെൺകുട്ടി, സ്വപ്നത്തിലെ ദേവി, കാവിലെ മൂന്ന് വരകൾ — അങ്ങനെ ആറ്റുകാൽ ക്ഷേത്രം എന്നാണ് വിശ്വാസം.
(In Madurai, Kannaki lost her husband Kovalan for a crime he never did. The queen’s anklet held pearls, Kannaki’s held rubies, and the broken anklet told the truth. Then over the mountains to Kerala… the little girl at the Killi river, the Devi in the dream, the three lines in the grove. So, it is believed, came the Attukal temple.)
