ശിവനും പാർവതിക്കും ഒരു മകളുണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്ന് നിങ്ങൾക്കറിയാമോ? കൈലാസത്തിൽ ഭഗവാൻ യുഗങ്ങളായി ധ്യാനത്തിൽ... മുരുകൻ ദൂരെ... പാർവതി ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക്. (Did you know Shiva and Parvati had a daughter? On Kailash the Lord was in meditation for ages… Murugan far away… Parvati alone.)

ദേവിയുടെ സങ്കടം കണ്ട് ഭഗവാൻ ദേവിയെ നന്ദനവനത്തിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോയി. അവിടെ, ചോദിക്കുന്നതെന്തും തരുന്ന കല്പവൃക്ഷത്തിനു മുന്നിൽ ദേവി മനസ്സിൽ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു: "എന്റെ സങ്കടം മാറ്റാൻ... എനിക്കൊരു മകളുണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ..." (Seeing her sorrow, the Lord took her to Nandanavana. There, before the Kalpavriksha that grants every wish, she wished in her heart: "If only I had a daughter… to take away my sorrow.")

മരം തിളങ്ങി... ആ വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഒരു കുഞ്ഞു പെൺകുട്ടി. ശോകം മാറ്റാൻ വന്നവൾ — അശോകസുന്ദരി. (The tree shone… and out of that light came a little girl. She who came to end sorrow — Ashokasundari.)

ഇന്നും ഈ പുത്രി നമ്മുടെ എല്ലാ ശോകവും അകറ്റുമെന്നാണ് വിശ്വാസം. 🙏 (It is believed that even today this daughter takes away all our sorrow.)

📿 ശ്ലോകം (the sloka at the end — a new devotional verse written for this video): മാതുഃ ശോകാത്തു യാ ജാതാ സാ ശോകം ഹരതേ സദാ। ദുഃഖാദേവ സുഖം ജാതമിതി തത്ത്വം പ്രബോധയ॥ ശോകസാഗരമധ്യസ്ഥം ദീനം മാം കരുണാമയി। ഉദ്ധരസ്വ കൃപാദൃഷ്ട്യാ അശോകസുന്ദരി പ്രിയേ॥ (She who was born of a mother's sorrow forever takes sorrow away. Awaken in me this truth — from sorrow itself joy is born. I stand helpless in an ocean of sorrow, O compassionate one; lift me with your merciful glance, beloved Ashokasundari.)
